What it was
An untitled narrative action-adventure game set in the Star Wars universe, led at Visceral Games by Amy Hennig.
Ragtag was conceived as a linear, character-led ensemble story about criminals in the Star Wars underworld. EA showed a short in-engine glimpse at E3 2016, while the studio built internal demonstrations; ordinary players never received a build.
Existence timeline
Visceral begins developing a narrative Star Wars game.
The Uncharted creative director takes a leading role.
EA shows a short in-engine sequence at E3.
EA shuts the studio and moves the project into a different design.
EA's redirected successor no longer carries forward Visceral's linear heist-game plan.
Why it ended
EA closed Visceral in October 2017 and announced that the project would be reworked by another team into a broader experience. The original Ragtag design did not continue, and the successor effort was later cancelled.
Last confirmed trace
EA's studio update, the E3 footage, concept art and detailed accounts from former developers preserve the project.
What it left behind
Its cancellation became a flashpoint in arguments over single-player economics and left visible design echoes in later Star Wars games about the criminal underworld.
How we classified it
No generally obtainable public release existed; demonstrations, internal prototypes or archival fragments do not constitute public access to the proposed work.
The strongest verified milestone maps to public_demo_or_preview in Arrival Score V1.
